Juxtaposition occurs when two things are being seen or getting placed together with contrasting effect. 

The juxtaposition between spirituality and barbarity refers to contrast between the highest and lowest aspects of human nature. Spirituality represents the highest  ideals of human civilisations, such as love, compassion and altruism, while barbarity represents the basest aspects of human nature, such as violence, aggression, and selfishness.

The contrast between the two can often be seen during the situation of conflict or crisis. The ideals of spirituality and humanism clash with brutality and violence due to the war situation and oppression. However it is important to note that this contrast is not a fixed or static dichotomy, rather it represents a dynamic tension between different human nature. This leads to confusion and chaos. Through the process of self awareness and self transcendence, individuals and societies can strive towards a more compassionate and harmonious world.
